Frequently asked questions.

Process

Every piece I make is one of a kind and I am always striving to improve and vary my work from piece to piece. I turn the vast majority of my work with green (fresh cut or high moisture content) wood. I take it to final dimensions and thickness and then start the drying process. There will usually be some movement or warping in the wood during this time. It is perfectly natural as the stresses of the wood are changed. Occasionally there might be some cracking as well. I stabilize cracks only if they would take away from the functionality of the piece.

Wood Care

We use a non-toxic, all-natural oil and wax finish for all pieces intended for food use unless otherwise stated. Care instructions will be included with your purchase. Hollowforms are decorative. Avoid prolonged contact with moisture to prevent cracking or damage.
